About Us

Our story

The Toy Yard was started by two close friends. Between us, we had built several successful online stores for the companies we worked for, and one day we realised it was time to build something of our own. In 2021 we registered The Toy Yard (Pty) Ltd, and the idea that had been talked about for so long became real.

Sadly, my partner is no longer with us. The Toy Yard carries on as something we built together, and I'm proud to keep growing it for families across South Africa.

What we do

We're a proudly South African online toy store based in Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal. We bring together toys we'd be happy to give our own kids: Melissa & Doug wooden and pretend-play sets, building blocks, remote control cars and kids' electric ride-ons, all at fair prices and delivered to your door anywhere in South Africa.
